Hello! I'm Stephanie.
I'm an Australian teacher who can't stop making resources for a Prep classroom.
My passion is simple.
I want to help Prep teachers feel confident in teaching Prep.
Many of us are told, "You'll be in Prep" and think, Oh, OK, now what? How do I teach Prep? (*Googles: How to teach Prep?)
This was me. When I first started teaching Prep, I was in my second year of teaching. My first year of teaching was lovely. I was in a team of four who really carried me through the year.
Then I decided to follow my boyfriend to a new state because, you know, love. (I ended up marrying him so was a good decision). But I found myself at a new school, in a new state, with a new curriculum (not that I even knew what that meant), oh, and I was the only Prep teacher.
I had no idea what I was doing.
I'd spend my night browsing Pinterest for ideas because I literally didn't know how to teach Prep. Teacher-gram wasn't a thing back then so I had no one to go to for advice. I was terrified my principal would realise I was a massive fraud and that she'd made a mistake in hiring me.
So, back to my passion. I want to help Prep teachers feel good about teaching Prep. Teaching is such a rollercoaster. You can feel confident, like you know what you're doing. Then the next year you change year-levels and suddenly it's like you're a graduate again.
I hope you feel like you can come to me for advice about Prep. I don't claim to be an expert, but if I can help you with your question, then I certainly will try!
Stephanie
