Let me tell you about a rookie error I made in my first year of teaching…
Every Friday afternoon I'd wave goodbye to the kids, then spend a silly amount of time working out the classroom jobs for the following week.
I'd have way too many (probably pointless) jobs and a little tick chart tracking who had been on what job. Talk about a time waster!
Fortunately I ditched that system and starting using Handy Helpers instead.
In my class I pick two Handy Helpers each day. They get to sit on special chairs, be the line leaders and do ALL the daily jobs.
It is so much easier and best of all, a time saver!
